Alpine - best pizza and cheesesteaks in upstate NY: We lived in Schroon Lake for almost 10 years. We would have a "date night" at least once a month where we would order cheesesteaks, pizza or the awesome wings from Alpine. Ralph ( one of the owners) usually delivered it to our house himself and let me just tell you it was always SOOOOO yummy and piping hot! We got to know Ralph and Kristen as friends - but it all began over the best cheesesteak outside of Philly! We now live overeas, but ALWAYS make an Alpine run when in Schroon Lake - YUMMO, my mouth is watering :-)

Excellent pizza!: This is a small eat-in/take-out/or delivery establishment which is independently run and has been in business for about 14 years with the present owners. Prices are comparatively low. It's in the center of town on Rt. 9 in Schroon Lake and can get very busy in the summer. The owners are always the ones who make the food. They also have an extended menu with subs and various fried foods. It's a favorite stop for me on my way up the Adirondack Northway - off Exit 27 then left (north) on Route 9. After my stop it's just a mile or so further north on Rt. 9 and I can jump right back on the Northway at 28. Great pizza, friendly, down-to earth people - I wouldn't change a thing.
