My wife and I have been going to the Pines every Friday night on a regular bases for the last 6-8 months. Julie is our usual bartender and Tammy is her alternate...they are both great girls and really take care of us.
One unknown fact about the Pines is that it is also a restaurant and is open till about 9 for food. Julie is great, even if the bar is full she will whip us up same really good homemade food. I love their chicken wing, which come HOT and Perfectly done. I have not had a bad/undercooked wing there yet.
Tap Beer is cold and served in a big glass. Bottle beer is also served at the right temp. Julie and Tammy can do any mixed drink that you want and they have reciently added quite a selection of different bourbons. I highly recommend Bookers Bourbon with Apple Juice! Yep, Apple Juice. I told Julie about it one Friday and by the next week she had Apple Juice for me!!!
Last Friday Cheril, the owner was in the bar and asked if we wanted to try some new beers that she was adding to the line up....Here they are:
New Castle Brown Ale - Dunston England
very good semi dark beer with no big nose but a long pleasant after taste...would be very good with the Pines Homemade Potatoe Slices and Horseradish dipping sauce.
Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor - American Made
this is a light beer with a lemon/lime nose but not bitter like Corona. There is not after taste and a very pleasant all-night drinking beer. Comes in a wierd green bottle...perfect for St Paddy Day.
Speaking of St Paddy's Day...biggest party going on will be at the Pines.....
Anyways, wether you go to the Pines to have drinks with friends, or go for supper and few beers, you will not be disappointed with the Pines and if the fire gets low...put some more wood on!
Wonderful Place to Go for Lunch: I have ordered take out and eaten in at this restaurant. They are Great. The food is always hot and consistency is perfect.
I usually have the roast beef club sandwitch. It is perfect. Crisp toast, alot of beef sliced thin and piled high, tomato, lettace and just enough mayo to make it all go down easy!
Delivery is always on time and Eating in is beautifull by the fireplace in the winter.
They only serve on Monday to Friday from 11 to 4. I wish they would expand their hours......
The Bar is nice for the evening hours but can get crowded fast.
