Well let me start by saying that I was so excited to be going to Lake Placid for the first time and had looked at the website for North pole Inn and Resorts numerous times. I was so ready to just kick back and relax! We got to the Campgrounds on the 25th of June 2009 for 3 blistful days...which were taken away. The management was the rudest bunch of people I have ever met in my life. While we were camping our neighbors had accidentally put their tents on the public access part... the gentlemen didn't know he was in the wrong, there were no signs stating that. He asked the guy in the cart to speak with the manager and boy did he come right down screaming. I felt bad for the old man, the manager went as far as accusing the couple of not being able to read. He claimed you must read your rules and if you did then there would be no problem but no where in the rules did it talk about this situation. My husband finally asked the manager to stop because we had small children there listening to this man scream. So sad to treat people any way you want to. As far as sites went, we have done alot of camping and I have NEVER seen sites this small in my life! They were tiny, though if you meantion that to the manager you would have gotten yelled at again. (As we witnessed) They had an ice cream social for the kids which I thought was great and then when you get up there you realized that they were charging for everything! Whenever we stayed at other campgrounds and they did something like that, they never charged. By the way, if you choose to come and stay, just remember to bring only one vehicle as they will charge an additional $20.00 per car to park it in there parking lot. WOW! Last but not least, if you pay for a waterfront site then just know that you will only get a waterview. All and all my experience with this place was very bad. I would never recommend someone stay here nor would I ever come back. I will be staying at the KOA down the road next time. Lake Placid is a beautiful place and worth coming back to visit but not this place!
