Delmonico's Italian Steak Hse

We called ahead to Delmonico's to see how long the wait was; we were told 45 minutes and the hostess would put our name down for express seating. When we arrived we were told by the people waiting for seats that they had been there for an HOUR and 45 minutes. So the hostess fibbed to make sure we would come in. We turned right around and left. We went back the following week at an earlier time to get a seat. The waitress was not quite rude to us, but we could see her being friendly and more accomidating to her other tables, so I don't understand why we got the cold shoulder. We then ordered our meal which was incredibly subpar. The mushrooms tasted weird, the mashed potatos were so-so and the steaks were average. I ordered a dessert to go and they put only half the dessert in the box (it was missing a whole bunch of things). Definitely not worth the money to eat here. There are much better restaurants just down the road that cost a whole lot less and have much better tasting food.

I have been going to Delmos since it’s opening 10+ years ago. I have yet to find one reason to complain except for my expanded waistline. From the hostess to the eager to please managers, the staff is unbelievably accommodating. I can’t comment on most the food there as I have only had one item. I always get the chicken parm, grilled not fried with the vodka sauce. Ask to have the kitchen manager Chris make the vodka sauce. It is unbelievable. Be sure to meet Brian, I think he runs the place…he’ll take care of you. Unbelievable experience.

As a Sales Professional I travel and have eaten at some of the finest restaurants and Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse in Syracuse joins my short list of Great places to eat.

The Shrimp Scampi special & Calamari appetizer was fantastic. The special – Filet Sinatra was cooked to perfection and they did a special mix grill, first time request for the chef also, substitute that was one of the best dishes ever served. It was mouth-watering, and they made the dish for me as requested even though the place was extremely busy. Yes, we waited – no reservations and walked it - but it was well worth the wait and like we did you can always have an appetizer or two at the bar and relax with a drink. Thank you Brian and special thanks to Vito & the Bar Staff for making our evening out a night to remember. We will be back.
