I've been fishing the Salmon River for about the last 23-24 years. I've met alot of the locals there, and now consider myself somewhat of a local, because I live about 30 mins. away. I can tell you that if your a fly fisherman this is the place to be when your not on the river. You will not find more hospitable people with the willingness to share information, or help you with just about anything you may need. Stop in and say hi to Malinda, I guarantee you will be impressed with her knowledge and willingness to accomodate your fly fishing needs.
Got to be the best. I have fished with her husband and is the best roll cast I have ever seen. Been a lot of years but he knows who I am. We did spend a lot of time together in a different field. Owe him lots there too.

Malinda's is THE tackle spot if you're a fly fisherman. She and her husband Bob are by far the most knowledgeable proprietors on the river. Technique, tackle, the finest equipment and a cup of coffee--all in a shop that opens early and closes late. And the shoptalk is endless & always fascinating. If you sit down for a chat, bring your wits along.
She maintains a number of basic rooms for fishermen. Call early as she's often booked. I've stayed at Malinda's on & off for a decade, & highly recommend the experience. Five stars.
