North Woods Inn

We stayed at NWI because we did not want to be in town center. Although we have never been to Old Forge before we enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and modern. Beautiful lakeview, nice pool, large property, with hiking trails across the street. On sunday they did a BBQ on the deck with some karaoke guy named Mike. It was a blast and evidently a lot of local people come every week. We asked about having a campfire for the kids and the owner set it up with lots of wood and our kids loved it. All in all if we come back to Old Forge we would definetly go
back and stay at the NWI.

I have stayed at many hotels in Old Forge. The North Woods Inn is the best of the bunch. Great location away from the noise in town. Great food
and fun. We brought our boat and were able to dock it at no extra charge.
Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpfull. Little beach was OK

Well. . .the North Woods was an interesting place for sure. The North Woods Inn was at one time a lovely air conditioner for the elite in the early 1900`s but when we arrrived, we were praying for an air conditioner to drown out the perpetual noise and heat! Our room was not facing the lake but the overlooking the bright, loud and sometimes obnoxious kitchen with lots of pots, pans and plates banging continuously! Below the kitchen was a tavern with loud guests who swore non~stop all while smoking. All in all, I would have to say it was a lively place with different priorities then meeting the needs of the guests who stayed at the inn. If I were to go back, I would stay at one of the tents located above the property to ensure a good night`s rest!
