I have to admit that I never went to Rome. So how can I write a review you might ask?! b/c I work along side of Jman. The noxious fumes that eminated from him after his Rome excursion were violently nasty enough for to beg the health dept to shut this place down. If this was the defense dept review of their new WMD's then maybe 4-5 stars... but it isnt.

I was visiting Rome over the weekend with a bunch of friends. After driving over 4 hours, we were ravenous and looking for a really great place where we could relax and sink our teeth into some juicy steaks. We were recommended Coalyard Charlie's down the road from where we were staying.

Frequenting steakhouses quite often, I'm sorry to say that this has to be one of the worst restaurants I have eaten at to date. The appetizers were far from tasteful as they were either swimming in oil, butter, or Frank's hot sauce. I'm not even positive that it could be classified as a steak restaurant as I'm not sure what I ate even came from a cow.

With only 3 cuts to choose from, the meat was stringy and tasted as if it were pan-fried in lard. I could feel my arteries clog with each bite I took and the only comfort given during the experience was in the knowledge that it would slide out 50 times faster than it took to get it down.

The only part of the meal that appeared fresh was the salad... however this was not enough to even rate a star. The only reason I would give it 1 star is that my friends and I managed to make it out alive.

Approach with caution... and a healthy supply of antacids.

"I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell!!!"

I think these two people are evidently a couple of people that wouldnt know a good meal if it jumped up and bit them, I have personally eaten at Coalyards many times and have yet to be disappointed. And not for nothing but if they were dissatisfied with the meal why not tell someone, Coalyards would have replaced their meal, or offered something else, instead they rather complain. No place is perfect, ive eaten as 4 star resteraunts and even there there are issues at times so rather than complain to the world learn to speak up and let someone know you are dissatisfied and give them a chance to make your experience one to remember.

We wouldnt know it b/c after 2 bites the right side of our body went numb. And it's hard to get anyone's attention from the bathroom... which had the longest line.

I have eaten at Coleyard Charlies several times and have yet to be dissapointed. The meals are always superb, and the restrooms are usually empty.
