love it: I lived in Utica Ny for my entire life up until 2003 ..Every summer when i come home to visit one of my first stops is to Joel's .. Love everything on the menu . If the where able to ship their food to me here in Arizona .. i probally would be ordering every week .My fav. dise would be 1/4 chicken with rice& beans a side of fried plantais .. or for a quick lunch grab a couple of empanadas to go. I tell everyone here in Az about how i cant wait to get home to get me some real food !! SEE YOU in AUGUST

BEST chicken IN UTICA: All are made welcome. They only have four tables, and takeout is most common, but I love to go there and eat, and listen to bachata and merigue music, and watch the friendly working class people eat wonderful food, and smile at an obvious visitor.
I now go there a couple of times a week, on average, and have taken many friends, one or two at a time.
My mother, 93 years of age, says it's the best chicken she's ever had. The roast pork is right up there with it.
You can eat like a king for under $6....enjoy....try yellow rice and beans with whatever you order....delicioso
