Sorry to tell you, but the two previous reviews are for Fanny's Cafe NOT Hancock Family Restaurant. Fanny's is top notch...Hancock Family Restaurant is HORRIBLE!!!! Keep on driving past Hancock Family until you reach Fanny's located in The Hancock HOUSE. Both Fanny's and The Maple Room (also located there) will not fail to please you!
My husband and I brought some out-of-town family to Fannyâs Café. They have traveled all over the world and could not get over the good food served in such a small town. My brother-in-law is a pilot and said he does not remember when he ate such good soup. We enjoyed the service as well as the choices on the menu. Each of us chose a different dish and we all enjoyed them. We returned Sunday morning for the brunch and the little chef made super omelets for each of us. We can only give this restaurant the best praise possible. Thanks to the Bassâ for building such a lovely place for all to enjoy.
We want more people to know about the Hancock Family Restaurant and Hotel. We spent 4 days eating at Fannie's Cafe. There is a Hotel, a Tavern, a formal dining room (Thurs-Sun) and a 50's Cafe. The food is very good and we loved the fact that the Bass Family spent the money, time and energy into rebuilding the New Hancock House and Hotel to it's exact replica of years ago. We want this precious town to prosper and encourage people to patronize its eateries and shops. My husband said the bacon, cheese omelet was perfect, all our meals were great and we especially enjoyed the pies-apple, strawberry/rhubarb, cherry and blueberry pies. It was the closest to homemade that we've experienced in a long time.
