The rooms were big and clean. Free WiFi, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Ironing board and iron and hairdryer provided. (Dryer was a little weak.) The room was a little dark. There was no overhead light, just three small lamps. They could add a floor lamp from K-Mart. That would be sufficient. The bathroom was large and well lit. I wish we could have tried the restaurant. They have an extensive menu and a Sunday Brunch Buffet, but we were visiting an old friend of my husband's and he cooked for us. The LA Maison Blanche Bakery Cafe right down the road is fantastic. Pastry and coffee were great. They also had little quiche's and my husband said you can get a full breakfast as well. Indoor and outdoor dining. The whole area is beautiful and if you're a kayaker, it looks like there are plenty of paddling opportunities. I would stay here again and hopefully sample the restaurant food. There's a Price Chopper not to down Rt 12 that has a nice selection of cheese and fruit if you're not a fan of Walmart and the high cost of low price. We chose fred's because the Super 8 was full and the HJ's got bad reviews. Fred's had the best reviews and I can see why.

We were visiting an old friend of my husband's in the area. The Super 8 was full and the other chain in the area got bad reviews. Other local places had no reviews so we chose Fred's because the reviews were good. I agree. The room was clean, big enough to have a small sofa so I didn't feel claustrophobic. My husband's friend cooked for us so we didn't have a chance to sample the menu at Fred's. It looked good though. We left before the Sunday Brunch buffet which also looked good. They also provided an iron and ironing board, microwave, small fridge and a coffee maker. hairdryer too, but that was a little weak so I'm glad I brought my own. If you go try the LA Maison Blanche Bakery Cafe right down the road. The pastry is excellent. I wish I could have tried the quiche. The coffee was great and my husband says you can also get a full breakfast there.Indoor and outdoor seating. I would stay here again. We are kayakers and the paddling in the area looked great. The whole area is quite pretty.
