User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSave The Grandview Drive-in: I have been taking my kids to this drive-in for years. We love the fact that is still the old fashioned kind of theater with grass and dirt roads instead of gravel (yuck!). We drive there from quite a distance, but dont mind cuz it is a great place. It is family friendly and a very affordable evening of fun. Please keep it open....say NO to Walmart!

I also grew up with the drive in, BUT the past two owners have done NOTHING includeing even bacis to keep it up, Walmart will bring many needed jobs to Evans. I for one am looking forward to them moving in.

I lived in Angola for twenty some years, I now live in Georgia. The only drive-in theaters in the area are a little over an hour. I been to one of them and I like it but it's still not like the Grand View Drive-In. What makes Grand View special from other Drive-In's is it's lush grassy hills. The grass is so soft that most people prefer to watch outside then in their car. I know that alot of people would love to see a Walmart, but I would not count on it. Anyway there is alot of other places in the town were they can get land to build. I only hope that someday that it will reopen, So I can bring my kis from Geogia to what an outdoor movie. If for somereason walmart does not open and someone opens the Grand View Drive-In, they need to update the consession stand possible put out a playground for the kids or even a minture golf course.
The drive was always a good time, and good value. The Grand View was something that made the town of Evans unique, much like the density of bars within the town, but more family friendly. You can go to almost any town and find a WalMart, Target or some all inclusive shopping center. The Grand View was someplace you would take guests from out of town when then visited. I plan on moving back and I hope there is an open and operating drive in when I do.
