If wings aren't your thing, you can choose from made-to-order pub food. Minutes from the Buffalo Theater District , this casual, unpretentious bar features live jazz Friday and Saturday evenings. The walls are covered with awards and articles extolling the famous wings. See website for online sauce and souvenir shopping and more. |

Way overpriced!! As most of the other posts here say, you are paying for the atmosphere, not quality.
Pleasantly surprised. Of course we've all heard about this place, but I kept hearing from Buffalo residents that even though it's home to the original buffalo wing, that "it's not that great'. I beg to differ. The wings were excellent. Too many restaurants in this city are in the habit of overcooking the chicken and just smothering it in Buffalo sauce. You can dip a piece of cardboard in Buffalo sauce and have it taste the same. Anchor Bar does it right by not overcooking the wings - they were juicy and delicious. I will go again. I also like the atmosphere, the pictures on the walls, the pub feel. It's great.
Long wait for average food......The name is OVER RATED.
