Buffalo Brew Pub

Great Pub Atmosphere: Great wings, great beer selection, friendly service. Remember they call themselves a Pub, so there are peanut shells on the floor and you often seat yourself, except on weekends when the place is so packed that you can hardly get in. That many people can't be wrong about food and drink, can they? No! The place rocks. And unlike a true pub, you don't have to order your own food from the bar.

It smells like...: My friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to go out for local microbrews and dinner. My boyfriend searched the internet for restaurants serving microbrews in Buffalo and we decided to try Buffalo Brewpub. Poor choice on our part. We sat ourselves, kicking around peanut shells and garbage on the floor. My friend says "It smells like an animal urinated right in the middle of the room." We all wanted to leave immediately, but decided that we would have one drink first (in a restaurant boasting over 30 beers on tap, we had to at least try it.) My boyfriend and friend try to order the oatmeal stout. The waitress informs us that they're "out of basically every dark beer." By this time we weren't just appalled by the grotesque state of this restaurant, now we find out they don't have a single brew we were so looking forward to trying (We drove in from Niagara Falls. Quite a haul for this kind of disappointment.) My boyfriend and friend order a Bass and drink it as quickly as possible. I saw a waitress carrying food to other customers. The food is comparable to diner food (I love diner food, when I'm eating at a diner- not at a restaurant/microbrewery), the atmosphere is suitable only for drunken sports fans, the floors are filthy and the dining area smelled bad (literally like animal urine.) As quickly as my boyfriend and friend finished their beers, we were out the door and back to Pizza Plant (where we had just eaten the night before) for great microbrews, clean and pleasant atmosphere and tasty food.

Great place: All those micro-brews, reasonably priced and good food? Does it get any better???
