I live in Hamlin and have been in the Cafe many times. My personal favorite lunch sandwich is the eggplant parm sandwich. Generous portions of eggplant "lightly" dusted, covered with sauce and cheese on fresh crusty bread. I eat half and take the other half home. But the show stopper is the homemade soup. The taste is always fresh, never over salted or over seasoned to compensate for lack of taste and it seems the variety is endless. Each time I am there I try another. I have yet to be disappointed. The staff is that small town friendly that you see in the movies. Every inch of the restaurant including the ladies restroom is decorated according to the current season or holiday. The unique thing is that it is ever changing. You could spend an hour or more just checking out the decorations, come back a month later and everything has totally different. A really nice atmosphere for kids, easy on the pocket book for Mom and Dad. Its worth the drive even if you don't live in the area.

Menu has a wide variety of choices, even for the health conscious. Food is meticulously prepared relative to other similar restaurants in the area. Specials are well thought out & remarkable. They aren't just specials in price only, like you find most places these days. They tend to be specially made entrees not normally found on the menu. And, they are definitely worth a try. The service is friendly and accomodating.

We eat there all the time Their Version of the Garbage Plate is Great, their hot sauce is one of the better ones outside of PA. The food is very good, portions are fine. Their Fish Fry on Fridays is good, overall we like eating at the Sunflower Cafe, I would recommend the Tuna Melts, Turkey Dinners, the Soups and Salads. The Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere quaint yet bright and uplifting, you could do a lot worse, but not many better.
