We were delighted with our trip to Geneva. On 7-11-09 we had dinner at Nonna's. The place is very charming and the food excellent. We sat in the outside patio and were served by Dottie. The service was excellent.
We dined at Nonna's after a day trip in the Finger Lakes region. The food was reasonably good but the service was outstandingly bad. After a fairly short wait in the bar, we were seated and were ignored by the waitstaff for about 20 minutes before flagging someone down to request service. Service alternated between inattentive and intrusive, with the waitress at one point offering to clear the table while my dining companion still had knife and fork in hand. The evening culminated in a waitress other than our own slapping the bill on the table without comment or explanation.
In November 2007, my wife and I ended up getting a room at the Hampton Inn in Geneva. We were hungry and asked the desk clerk for a dinner recommendation: she enthusiastically recommended Nonna's, which is within easy walking distance.
It was a Sunday night, and we were seated immediately. The service was outstanding, and the meals incredible. We liked one of the local wines (Fox Run "Sable") so much that we visited the winery the next day and took 3 bottles home!
We plan to visit Nonna's again on our trip back to Detroit from Cape Cod in a few weeks - it was THAT good!
