California Rollin

I did not want to give it even 1 star, but I see 1 star is for awful, and that is how I felt about my recent lunch there. The food was not very good and luch for two ($40) was outrageously expensive and was not even that much food. Two rolls and 6 pieces of sushi. I can have dinner at another Sushi place for two for that much and the food will be significantly better.
I cannot see myself going back there.

This place has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester, in fact I think I go here more than any other restaurant with friends. I've always been very satisfied with everything i've had there. I really love the creative and extremely delicious unique varieties they have on the menu.

They have plum and wasabi flavored beer for great prices, though it's really tough to taste those flavors.

On a side note, they really need to clean out that fish tank in the center and stock it up, it used to be such an attractive centerpiece in it's heyday. Now it's just dingy and unappetizing.

Meh. Not exceptional, and pretty pricey for what you get. Two maki rolls cost me $16.50 to take out, as CR charges a 10% "service" charge for take-out orders. $16.50, two rolls = Huh?

And yeah, it's just not a place screams "Clean!" Think I'll stick to other options in town.
