I had dinner at Mr. Dominic's on Wednesday night. There was a need to wait to be seated so my friends and I sat at the bar for a cocktail. The 50-60ish bartender asked what I'd like. I gave my order and asked if there was any other glass I could have instead of a "rocks"glass. He showed me a second option which was no larger just on a stem, my aim was to get more ICE. I said, "Nothing any larger?". He went into a discourse berating me.."What do you need..It's all booze..I can give you a beer stein ..How much do you want anyway"? I was livid!! His tyrate, was totally uncalled for. IF I'd been alone I would have walked out. No customer deserves that verbal abuse and embarrassment making a simple request. The food was great but the bartender needs to retire!
I have been to Mr. Dominic's many times, I love the food there. Unfortunately, they try to rush you out of the place and my last visit there was just that -- my last. They are very busy there and there is not a lot of room so I do understand they don't want you hanging around forever after you are finished BUT they were trying to take my salad plate away before I was finished and then the same thing happened with my meal. I do not take a long time to eat, this is unacceptable.
I was treated very poorly there. I went there to order clams for take out. The bartender ignored me for about 10 minutes. I finally interrupted him and asked him to place an order. He told me the hostess took care of ordering. He was totally rude and obviously didn't like me interrupting his conversation with the other female customer at the bar. I went in there about a week later for dinner and the same bartender was on duty.. Infront of a room full of people he accused me of not paying a prior bill, calling me names and totally embarassing me. I did go to the owner and he backed up what the bartender said and the way I was treated. Be prepared if you are not a friend of the family or of italian heritage you may be treated as an unwelcome guest...
