Most unprofessional Auctioneer I have ever seen. Waited in the rain all day, at the Angelica Fair Grounds for a friends truck to be auctioned off. When my friend tried to give Richard (Auctioneer) some factual data on the truck (rep the truck??) up for bid, Richard became verbally abusive toward the truck owner and threatened to have him thrown out of a public fair grounds for no reason. Then he refused to finish the auction after he started the bidding on it. There were 5 of us in the same group who spent well over $12,000 and none of us will ever return.
Can you say rip off!!! Over a year ago we sent items from my mother's estate for autcion.(Antique toys, furniture, glassware, collcetibles, etc.) We contacted R.G. Masons to see when his next auction was. They informed us that none were scheduled but if "we" can pick up one of his trailers, fill it and bring it to his facility, he would sell the items in his next auction. We made the 90 mile round trip, picked up the trailer and filled it to the brim and then made the 90 mile trip again to take the trailer back to his facility. Several months had passed, and with my mother's illness it has slipped our minds that we hadn't heard anything. We would periodically call and have to leave a message to return our call but they never did. We did make contact on one occasion and they said that they would mail out a check but didn't tell us the dollar amount, and, of course, no check was received. Finally, after over a year had passed contact was made to R. Mason. He said that a check had been mailed out but was unsure of the amount and he would check into it. Well, he got the information and said that a check would be mailed out in the amount of $57!!!!! So, a trailer full of antique toys and collectibles netted a whole $57!!!! Wow, it cost us more to make 2 trips to Fillmore! And, which is it, he already mailed the check or was it already mailed? Still, today we have yet to get a check. And to top it all off, the un-professional manner which Mr. Mason communicated was appalling. I've never heard such fowl language used by a so called proffessional. Bottom line, don't use this service unless you want it to cost you money!
