I cannot even believe how bad our dining experience was. This is going to be long, but worth it for anyone who is thinking of dining at this restaurant.

We made a reservation for 5pm and arrived on time but had to wait a few minutes for my out-of-town in-laws. We were seated (after a little bit of confusion over which table was ours) at approximately 5:10pm. The hostess (also the owner) brought a booster seat and a small dish of crackers for our son and gave us 5 menus for 8 people, telling us that we could share (the restaurant was not by any means full - I'm not sure if they just don't have a lot of menus or what).

After about 5 minutes, a waitress came to take our drink orders. She seemed very flustered (new?) when my dad asked if there could be separate checks, and also when we asked if we could just order our dinners since we had already decided what we wanted. I ordered a side of cauliflower and broccoli and asked if she could bring it out right away for our son to get started. This was at approximately 5:15.

At 5:30, our son started getting restless, having finished his crackers within minutes of our arrival and the vegetables and bread had not yet been delivered. The waitresses started bringing some food out of the kitchen and we hoped it was our salads, but it was not. The hostess/owner took two plates to a table across the room. The younger waitress asked her if she had taken them to the right table, and after conferring with the chef, she went to the table, apologized that they weren't the right dishes, and brought them to the table next to us. After another minute and another conference with the chef, she went to the table next to us, told them that she was mistaken and that the dishes WERE meant for the table across the room, and took those plates back to the original table. GROSS.

At 5:45, the chef (and owner) emerged from the kitchen and started talking to a man at the table of 4 next to us (the same table that had been served the wrong food and then had it taken away). He seemed like a very "jokey" guy and we thought he was kidding with the man, until he started raising his voice. We're not entirely sure what had happened, but he said in a very loud, threatening voice, "You don't talk to my wife like that. YOU DON'T TALK TO MY WIFE LIKE THAT." We had not heard anyone at that table say anything rude to the hostess/owner woman at all. It was EXTREMELY awkward for us and I immediately wanted to leave. Who comes out and talks to a customer like that?! My mother in law had to calm me down to keep me from walking out right then. Keep in mind, we have now been there 35 minutes with NO FOOD. We were sitting right next to the kitchen door too, so it's not like they just forgot about us.

Fast forward TWENTY FIVE MORE MINUTES, 6:10. We have now been there AN HOUR. Our waitress brought out the salads, completely unsure of whose was whose. My grandpa asked for bread and she told him that would come "in a few minutes." Not an hour ago like at ANY OTHER RESTAURANT.

At about 6:20, the chef/owner came out of the kitchen and showed us a burnt steak. He said "This one was supposed to have been medium" and laughed. (It was my steak.)

Our food was GOOD and definitely adequate, but it could IN NO WAY make up for the horrible experience we'd had. If I had been paying the bill (my parents offered to pay as a birthday present to me) I would have been OUT OF THERE at 5:45 when the chef/owner yelled at the other patron, if not sooner due to complete lack of service!!! I would not have even stayed to eat.

There was absolutely NO apology from either owner (a husband/wife) for a) the fact that we were served NO food of any kind for an hour, b) the fact that the guy YELLED AT ANOTHER CUSTOMER 5 FEET AWAY FROM US, and c) that they took our reservation even though they obviously could not handle the patronage. Ridiculous.
