User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI danced under the instruction of Roger for about 2 years in Ithaca. I had always had the drive and passion to dance, but never quite learned how.
Frankly, I was terrible at first, but he was amazing. He would dismiss my apologies and missteps (although I noticed after I arrived and stepped on his feet so much, he switched to hard-toed shoes, and as I got better he went back to the softer dance shoes), and guided me through different styles and variations of steps and music.
Of all the other dance teachers I have had before and since, I would have to say he was the best. He knew his stuff inside and out (and even more!), cared about his students, and loved nothing more than to dance and have fun doing it.
Mr. Christian is a character, I will give him that, and he is one of the best bets for an interesting experience getting into the world of Latin, ballroom, and swing dancing. Enjoy. ^^

Two happy daughters!: I have 2 daughters who have both been dancing since they were toddlers. Employment moved us from NYC to Ithaca and my daughters were not sure if they could find a dance studio that would compare to Broadway dance Center in NYC where they had previously taken dance. After trying some classes at various studios we ended up at the Ithaca Academy of Dance and they love it. They both enjoy the classes they are taking and my oldest daughter said it's the best ballet class she's ever taken. Teachers worked with them to find what classes were level appropriate and the best fit for them. Worth every penny!
