I'm a Food Buyer in Las Vegas and have worked with some of the most recognized Chef's in the world and have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in Las Vegas. While in Elmira, we went to the Palms after being suggested by some friends. I only wish I lived closer!!!!! The Shrimp Scampi was the best I have ever had. It's a small cozy neighborhood restaurant without much flash but I look forward to visiting Elmira again for that Shrimp Scampi. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and I felt as if I had gone back "Somewhere In Time"!!!

The Palms is okay, but not magnifico. I'm Italian and grew up in an area with lots of Italian restaurants, so I've developed a taste for good rustic Italian food. The best two Italian restaurants in this area are bar none Tanino's in Horseheads and DeClemente's in Corning. Also I've heard that Za Za's in Ithaca is really good, but I've yet to try it.

The owners are rude!: If you are not important to them than you should not eat there. They do no requests and the hostess is a snot! The food is good but not worth the headache. Go to Libs.
