Back Door Tavern

The Back Door Tavern is one of the best places to eat, drink, and have fun in the Pittsburgh area. Oddly enough, many in the 'Burgh don't know about it, or think it isn't a place for them due to the somewhat hilarious name.

Having graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, I have frequented this establishment numerous times and I can honestly say it is my most favorite place to eat. I only regret not being able to eat there more often but I live in New Ken, and is quite the drive.

The food there is outstanding and the portions are, simply, HUGE. Whatever you order, you will go home with leftovers. I have had almost everything from their sausage sandwich to the fish and even their renowned Backdoor Burger. That burger, at roughly 7-8" wide and 4" thick, is by far the most tastiest I have ever had. Additionally, the prices are really cheap. The portions are unbelievable when you look at the check.

The second best thing about this place is the drink menu. They have almost anything you can think of either on tap or in bottle.

If you are in the 'Burgh area, and find yourself in Beaver County, you have to visit this place. Just be prepared to wait if you get there after 6PM, as this place is really popular with the locals and draws huge crowds every night.

Can't wait to go back: Hi i am from Portland, Oregon when i visit there a few years ago I had a great experience. A positive place of service great foods & conversation & i am thinking about moving to Pittsburgh, Pa so I am expecting to eat there quit a lot. Now I request if you haven't eaten there go there & try there fish sandwitch or phili sandwitch with a nice cold beer take my advice its the best place in the Pittsburg area & that is my view about the (BACK DOOR TAVERN)

The Best!: I am not a seafood person so I'm pretty picky when it comes to eating it. But The Back Door has the BEST Fish sandwiches ever!
