Last Nov I adopted a dog from white oak. Although I was quite shocked how small the place was, I passed it up twice before I found it, I found them to be very nice and the place was clean and the dogs were well taken care of. They checked out my references before I could have the dog, they gave me dog food and toys a leash and a collar for her. They gave me all her paper work for everything and they even had some history on her. My sophie is a sweet even tempered dog wonderful dog. I am glad that I went there and I have recommended the shelter to other people.. I went there on the recommendation from friends who adopted animals from them. For the people who got the bad dog from them, guess what, you can get a bad dog from any shelter, even animal friends and they don't always have the history on their animals either.
Be very careful if you adopt from this shelter. We adopted a dog and was not informed of his background. We brought him home and within a month he killed our family pet. We found out after the fact that the dog was brought to the shelter to begin with because it bit the previous owner and also went after the previous owners dog. I have 2 young children and I (had) a small Shih Tzu who is now deceased. I wouldn't recommend this shelter to anyone.
great: this is a great place to find a loving animal like the cat i got there

The shelter gives you all information that is known about the animal. I am sure there is a policy contract that tells you about not being responsible for things that may happen when in a home being these pets come from stray, non truth owners etc...Amazing that people like to cause trouble but all shelters have policies and it tells you alot about different things, maybe people need to read them?
Wow aren't you (Shadow) rude. The dog they adopted killed their pet! Not to mention they have two small children at home. The average person NEVER reads the small print and legally isn't required to. Justice For Spot - sue em! Maybe then they will learn the real history of the animals they take in or in the very least know enough to sit down with the previous owners and ask the right questions.
