BEST "take-out" in town!!!: ...forget about my Polish mother-in-law's pierogies, forget about Mrs. T's! There is NOTHING like the taste of pierogies from Pierogies Plus! I only live a few minutes away, but I would drive MILES if I had to just for one. They are definitely worth it!!

a true "Pittsburgh" place: Everyone in Pittsburgh should experience Pierogies Plus at least once. It's THE place for pierogie, haluski, stuffed cabbage, and all those Eastern European goodies. The ambience is hard to describe - it's in a former gas station, but it isn't scary inside. It's a very basic fast-food joint - no white tablecloths - but that's part of the experience.

They make pierogies filled with beef, potato/cheese, sauerkraut/potato, or cottage cheese/chives. I usually pick up a couple dozen to go. I like to boil them, but a lot of people fry them with butter and onions.

Most of the people working there are of Eastern European descent (some of them are recent immigrants). They're friendly and really take pride in what they do.

If McKees Rocks is too far to go, you can order over the internet and they'll mail you a huge package of pierogies. You can also have their pierogies at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern on Liberty.
