All vegetarian. Great food. Great selection. The service is not traditional American, which is I suspect, why there are some gripers about it. But I have always had excellent service. The surroundings and atmosphere leave something to be desired.

Authentic South Indian - my friend and I were the only non-Indians in the (half-full) restaurant. Excellent Aloo Palak (spinach and potato curry), Mutter Paneer (peas and cheese), bhatura, Mysore coffee, chili pakoras, and chutneys. I just moved here from Maryland and Udipi's food compares favorably with every vegetarian Indian restaurant I have ever visited (e.g. Udupi and Woodland's of Langley Park).

The ambiance is peculiar. Lovely Indian artwork and holiday decorations adorn the walls, but the ceiling droops and utensils are plastic. The service was friendly though a bit slow.

Quality of Food beats everything else......: When you enter Udipi, first impression may be very deceptive, food would never be. Every face leaving Udipi, has smile on it. Though it may not last long because of bad parking facilties outside....can't help it!
