On Friday the 13th, of March, attending the Pittsburgh golf show I had heard about Big Jim's resturant from one of Pittsburgh's finest. A police officer working the show. Being from Ohio my buddy and I made the trip to Big Jim's. Thanks to our Garmin GPS, we could not have found the place without it. Moving around the city at 5:00pm made this trip like a Pittsburgh, Cleveland football game. It was worth every miss move in Pittsburgh, on our part, to get to Big Jim's. The fish and the veal dinner we had made the trip worth the effort. Portions were to big to finish and the flavor was excecptional, along with the feeling of being back home made this great. My wife and I in the future will make this trip from Warren, Ohio to enjoy home town dinning. Thank-You for your service. MJB.
I was accidently introduced to this place 6 months ago--I ordered a pizza and my friends all got sandwiches (ruebens)--there were 4 of us total... It was all enough to feed 8 people--not only were the portions generous, but the food was fantastic! The pizza was better than your "pizza" parlor pizza. Since then I return on a regular bases. The atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic and the price is decent... in a nut shell... Big Jim's is Pittsburgh at it's best! One more thng, get their Fish Sandwich--it's also very yummy!
Big Jims: The best burgers & Fries I have ever had. I live in SC and when I go to PA on business once a year, that is where I eat lunch. The only way to improve it would be to serve sweet tea(from the south).
PS they serve food other than burgers and fries.
