| About: | This local favorite is nestled in the corner of a busy square that once served as an open market. This uniquely Pittsburgh-style restaurant is popular with downtown office lunch and after-hours crowds looking for a quick bite and a cool drink. The decor is strictly Formica and stainless steel, with decorative sports memorabilia throughout. Be sure to open wide, as this eatery serves its famous grilled sandwiches with coleslaw and French fries stuffed inside the bread. This kind of fare will fill up even the hungriest patron. You can't beat it at 2am + they give huge portions. Their egg sandwich is delicious and so are their fries. Only downful is that there cheesesteak is horrible & the cleanliness is lacking, but considering there locations, its expected.
As a first-timer to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, my boyfriend took me to Primanti's and informed me that a visit to this famed eatery is a must for any Pittsburgh visitor.
The sandwiches were delicious and complimented nicely with an Iron City beer. The outdoor seating with a view of Market Square topped off an excellent lunch!
Classic: One of the biggerst things my wife and I miss about "the BURGH'" is Primanti Brothers. I try and sometimes come close to replicating the taste but that only seems to make us miss it more. Every time we come home on leave Primantis is the first place we stop. By far they have best of everything.
