I have been taking my two cats to Geary's for a while. I must say, my one cat was treated in an acceptable manner, however, the other..far from it. My cat was losing her hair, real skinny. I thought there was something wrong. I was told she is nervous, allergies, etc. The answr was to buy a $40 Glade-type plug in to keep her calm from them, along with LOTS of allergy shots which cost me about $240 total that visit. Next I wanted to spay her, that was going to be up to $300..just for the spaying..after all the shots. I found another vet (reputable) to do it for $160. When I went to pick up my cat, I found out why she was so skinny and losing her hair. She was born with only half of her organs!!! Now, after all the money and all the visits to Geary's..this was never mentioned. The vet told me she is too sick to get more than one shot at a time...Gearys had given her up to 5. And that I had to watch what she ate because she only has ONE kidney, etc. When I called Gearys to ask why this was never mentioned..the office manager said nothing...and simply ended my call with an "OK" Not concerned...didnt tell me he would check into it to find out..NOTHING!!!! Just...'ok'....
Dr Geary is wonderful. Our golden retriver was very ill and was dx with pancreatitits. Our dog was treated with love and kindness throughout the entire process. I took in him as he was no responding to treatment, and there was a sub. vet there at the time. She advised me to take our dog to the monroeville er hospital. I was very upset as our dog as very ill. Dr. Geary came down from surgery and told me he will do anything and that our dog dying was not an option. He told me he would take our dog into surgery at that moment but I wanted one more day of medication before we decided on surgery. I am so happy to report our dog is great. Thanks to Dr. Geary. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Is he expensive? No more than any other vet. We now have care credit but also Dr. Geary recommended pet insurance...and we will never be without it in the future. He was so fantastic with us and our dog..not enough words to show our appreciation. All of this staff is just as kind and understanding. Dr. Geary called and check on us each day and was worried when he couldn't reach us. You don't get that kind of service nowdays. Dr. Geary ....thank you for saving our Max!
Dr. Geary always asks us if we have any questions before leaving the office. He listens to your concerns and takes his time with you. We use the office in Bullskin and the staff is there late hours just to be sure that your pet is taken care of. Best vet in the area hands down!!

Just wanted to clarify some things. The office clerk did tell me about it and I left a message on your cell phone to try and resolve the matter. The $240 total visit (that actually came to $184.03)included a physical exam, rabies vaccination, leukemia vaccination, distemper vaccination, Revolution topical flea treatment, a feliway electronic diffuser, the allergy injection and biohazard waste disposal fee. The $300 spay estimate was actually $212.00-277.00 that included the spay, pre-surgical bloodtesting that includes liver and kidney values and glucose, a leukemia virus, feline immunodeficiency virus and feline heartworm test, an intravenous catheter, intravenous fluids, an endotracheal tube, blood pressure monitoring, monitoring of the heart rate, oxygen saturation monitoring, isoflorane gas anesthesia, pain medications before, during, and after the ovariohysterectomy, the spay itself, a technician trained in anesthesia and monitoring to monitor your pet through anesthesia, a licensed veterinary technician assisting with the surgery and booster vaccinations for both leukemia and distemper. I don't know about you, but that is a heck of a lot things for only $277. I likely wouldn't have known whether a pet had only one kidney unless we would have done an abdominal surgery. Only having one kidney should not cause hair loss.
