Known him for years and we've used him for our kennel vet and for our pets. Think House without the limp - he is the best and cares more about your pet's health than your feelings. I don't know a better vet in the area and I know them all.
When I phoned to schedule our initial appointment, the receptionist was very kind and patient. In the exam room, we were met by Dr. Blais, who took a comprehensive history and examined Ellie and explained thoroughly the procedure that he would be doing to help Ellie. He spent at least a half hour with us and was in no rush, we could ask question, express our concerns, without feeling like we were taking up too much time.
Ellie was scheduled for surgery the next day. We were welcomed to see where Ellie would be staying, and she was given a soft blanket, water, and a litter pan. It was comforting to know where Ellie was staying. This was in total contrast to our other veterinary clinics, where we have had to just hand over our pet and wish for the best. Dr. Blais personally called me following her surgery and described the comprehensive procedure once again, he was in no rush, happy to report that she had done well in surgery, allowed me to ask questions and provided hope for her recovery. Ellie's long-term result is not yet clear; but I know that she has had the best care possible and taking her to see Dr. Blais was clearly the best for her. Just as clear is the warmth and care displayed by Dr. Blais and his staff.
Our pug puppy had chronically infected ears. Thanks to Dr. Blais and the Wysong diet, they are greatly improved. Nippy is slowly loosing weight, sheds less, and she smells better. Our other dog has sleeker fur and no more sore eruptions on her skin. Our cats have glossy fur and act more lively. The Wysong diet has proved to be excellent for them all. This all began with intervention on a pug whose ears had been ignored for years by our former vet. The staff at Blais Veterinary Hospital are very caring, nice and helpful, too.
