I hate to be a fly in the ointment, but I first started going to Millers in Kittanning and Ford City back in the early/middle fifties and they were great. big fat and full of goodies. I went to the Army, then Germany and came back to Kittaning, had more and they were still great. I have been gone now for over forty years and came back to Millers recently and found a great dissappointment. No longer big and fat with goodies but very similar to what I have bought in Subway. I don't think they make their own rolls like they used to. My wife thinks the same. So Sad.
Growing up outside of Ford City in the 70s, Millers was a part of growing up. During a recent visit to Pittsburgh to see my brother, I told my Dad we had to go to Millers, please! It's been since 1981.
Well, as soon as we walked in the door, it was the exact same smell. Everything looked different - but everything tasted the same. It's amazing that something can keep the same spirit alive for so long - and I thank them for keeping to tradition.
If you want an incredible hoagie, sub or hero that will make you come back for more - be sure to check out Miller's.
