This used to be a very good value place with enthusiastic owners. New owners have increased prices and are no where to be seen. Lunch salads are still good and the bread rolls are excelent.

Overpriced: High prices for very little food. Try it once for the experience, just to break the norm.

Looking for a date-night dinner? Look no further!: For good French-style cuisine, Carlisle's best value is California Cafe. They serve lunch and dinner and offer a wide variety of chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian entrees. I especially like the Poullet en miel (Chicken in honey). Each meal comes with your choice of soup or quiche or pate, salad & a french roll, and dessert! I love the quiche of the day (any kind!), and I always get the house dressing. It is a tangy Chinese vinegrette that is soooo good that I had to ask for the recipe! The rolls are delicious too -- dense, yeasty and freshly baked. For dessert, try the Grand Marnier Mousse (or anything chocolate) for a sure-fire winner! The setting is a bit stark, but the owners are in the process of adding a piano bar upstairs for weeknight entertainment.
