James Buchanan Hotel, Pub & Restaurant

I live in Mercersburg, and everytime my family and I go by it just seems more ritzy than our taste. A friend said to give them a try and see. GLAD WE DID! The food was excellent, atmosphere quaint, prices resonable and the owners easy to talk to. We have been back a couple times now for both diner and brunch.

I had never had poached eggs before. Ill have them again! The New Orleans/European food food was very good. There crab cakes almost Maryland style! almost!

Im getting hungry thinking about it. To bad its 11pm on a Sunday!

My parents, sister and I had Sunday brunch there last week. The Eggs Creole (poached eggs on crab cakes) was wonderful. The crab was especially good -- large pieces and no little shells. Even though we were fairly full when the deserts were mentioned we had to try the cheesecase (Outstanding!) and the Chocolate Torte (also outstanding). The service was also great. We ate in their courtyard and it was an extremely pleasant meal.

Great experience: This is a great place to come savour a wonderful dining experience. The owners are always on hand and the atmosphere is very relaxing yet refined. Thanks for a great night.
