It’s been a long time since I have come across a company that wasn’t interested in my business as a consumer. In fact, almost every company out there wants to earn a consumers business, so this is actually a first.

I went to Links Music in Hanover, PA., with a list of music equipment that totaled about $4,000 (MSRP). I asked a salesperson if he could see what they could do on availability and pricing discounts and respond by email by the end of the week- he said he would.

By the end of the week, I had not heard from anyone at Links Music, so I called them, twice. Not only was the salesperson not available both days that I called, he never bothered to work up any pricing or availability and failed to contact me to inform me that they wouldn’t be- knowing that I was waiting for a response within a specific time-frame. The person that I did end up speaking with told me that they (as in, Links Music) didn’t want to deal with it. “We don’t want to deal with that”, I believe were his exact words.

I guess Links Music is doing so good that they don’t need my business. I’ll go spend my $4000 somewhere else. Oh, I never had the chance to tell them that I would be looking at another $3000-4000 worth of music gear not too long after this purchase. That’s alright, they wouldn’t want to deal with that either.
