One of the best: Anyone in the area will tell you that La Cucina is the best Italian Restaurant for miles around and well worth the trip from anywhere. The staff is personal and Armando is very good at measuring the needs and desires of his guests and making your visits there feel like you are one of the family. The calamari is wonderful, the soups are great and all the entrees I have tried are far above average. The cherries jubulee are done tableside and are excellent.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsDefinitely more than âred stuff on white stuffâ: I question the previous review. I live in York and drive right past an Olive Garden to get to La Cucina in Hanover. Yes, you can find very simple, traditional Italian dishes here, but there are also dishes such as tri-color cheese tortilla with aurora sauce â one of my favorites. I add chicken to this wonderful dish. Armando, the owner, always has new and varied specials and usually finds time to visit with the customers and personally thank them for their patronage. Customizing any dish to your specific taste or dietary needs is never a problem. Plan on taking half your meal home with you and donât miss the hazelnut chocolate gelato for dessert. It is heavenly! Cherries jubilee and peach flambé prepared right before your eyes, cannolis, and cheesecake are just a few of the many delicious desserts. I found the service to always be very good with a family-friendly feel.
The new banquet facility is beautiful and the piano player on Wednesday evenings is a welcome addition to La Cucina. The three Foods for Funds program speaks well of Armandoâs generosity and love for his community and his craft. It does get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings so take advantage of the call-ahead policy. I highly recommend La Cucina.
