Perkins is a poor quality restaurant where the management and employees just don't care, for the most part. The kitchen is filthy and covered in grease, and is never cleaned during services. Dirty dishes are regularly sent out to customers, and food is generally overcooked (at best) and often cross contaminated with juices from raw meat. Much of the equipment does not work, and so food is held at temperatures higher than 40 degrees, where bacteria flourish. Employees rarely wash their hands, and often go out to smoke or eat without washing afterwards. The management is more concerned with ticket times than with the quality or safety of the food, and will push out orders against a cook's advice that the food is still raw or undercooked.
The best advice that I can give is, if you are going to eat here, come at the very start of dinner when the kitchen is generally the cleanest. But be careful, and have your doctor's phone number at the ready.
We went to Perkins in Hanover on Friday Evening October 24, 2008. The service was really bad and my wife ordered pancakes and eggs and bacon. As she was cutting the pancakes there were small pieces of tomatoes. The other plate had eggs that were dried on the plate, Evidently the plate was not cleaned. The manager did not seem to care. We have been there before and had no problem, but it seems like they just don't care anymore.
If you order an omelet you get 3 plates of food. All of which is awesome. Definitely the best breakfast in town. And you can eat breakfast all day!
