An excellent place for great food and nice atmosphere. Friends recommended it to us over 10 years ago, and we had our wedding dinner here. The Vineyard is our first choice for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. Just went back on Mother's Day and it is still by far the best Italian food in the Valley. Try the veal!
stay far away. this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We waited 2 1/2 hrs for horrible food. we complained several times. owner didn't care. wouldn't take anything off the bill. obviously doesn't know how to run a business.
I drove from Philadelphia to visit with family and used Yahoo to find this restaurant. I wanted something unpretentious, real with a pleasant environment and excellent food. We could not have been more pleased.
The house wine at $5 per glass was very pleasant. The wine list was better than you would expect for a neighborhood bistro and varied from the twenties to the fifties.
Most of us had the house salad which was crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing were balanced. The entrée's were accompanied by a pasta side with a fresh made marinara sauce and done to the right side of el dente.
My very Italian sister in law, herself an excellent cook, was skeptical of going to an Italian restaurant. She thought she would order fish and changed her mind and joined me for the best veal parmesan that either of us ever had. The portions provided us with take-out for Sunday left overs and the bill without drinks for 5 people was $105. That included my two glasses of wine and two bottles of Pelegrino water.
The atmosphere is old fashioned Italian neighborhood kitsch. You could spend a lot more for a lot less than you will get at the Vineyard. If this restaurant were in Philadelphia, I would not write this review because I would want to keep it for myself. This is a very good restaurant for the value and a neighborhood setting. It does not pretend to be anything else.
