Well...
I went here for a year, I had to drop out of my second because of health problems. But, I've noticed in that amount of time that the other kids who go here are all very, very cookie-cutter... for the most part, rich goodie-goodies who just aren't from the real world. There is also definitely a sense of competition, and if you make a few mistakes you get looked down upon by the other peoples. The director obviously picks favorites. It is especially hard if you are a new student, because there are alot of cliques within the classes. The director is also very, very serious, and treats her students like miniature adults... seriously. Coming from my background; laid-back middle class, country roots, nonconformist, very un-sheltered, I did not feel comfortable in that setting. HOWEVER, the instruction is very good and professional, and will strengthen your drama skills, along with your dancing skills. If you are like me, though, and have had no previous dance experience whatsoever and cannot afford additional dancing instruction, the dancing can be kind of hard. If you don't wish to participate in the shows, you can always perform in an end-of-the-year recital, which I found really fun, and not at all stressful... unlike the productions.
7 years and now stopping.: After 7 years I grew up and now see that the director plays favorites. The dance program used to be good but now that there are new instructors it is not so good.
