One of the best butcher shops around we've been going to for many years. Some of the best tasting steaks, smoked ring bologna, bacon and other quality hanging beef.
We truly enjoy everything that we purchase from Fredrickâs. We no longer buy steaks anywhere else. They are every bit as good anything you will get online. Their bacon is a real treat. Be warned, once you have their bacon your will realize the stuff you buy in the stores is really sub-par. And their smoked meats and kielbasa are great.
Great Smoked Meat Products: Frederick's makes the absolute best PA Dutch style ring bologna I have ever had (45 years of eating various brands). They also produce in their own smoke house, terrific Kielbasa, bacon, ham hocks, pork chops, beef jerky, bone-in and boneless hams (absolutely no water added!) and other dried/smoked sausages. The ham hocks are the best yet, at least twice the size of mass-produced ones.
I do not get smoked chops at restaurants since I make better at home - using Frederick's smoked chops (cut to oder). They also make fresh sausages, the apple sausage is a real treat. Fresh Kielbasa is made during certain holidays. Own made deli ham beats any mass produced product available.
There is no better dried beef available. I use it to make a delicious creamed beef (the secret is nutmeg and cinamon!).
The store is only open on Friday through Sunday at the Quakertown Farmers Market. They also sell bison meat produced in the local area (although it is frozen). They also sell boneless beef short ribs. My father-in-law won't let me into his home unless I bring him at leat 5 pound of them. (We supply ribs and ring bologna to lots of friends and family in upstate NY!) Be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes for counter service but it is well worth the wait. Friday dinner time is the best time to visit. Call ahead and they will prepare the order for you, but you will still have to wait to pick it up. Make sure to try any of the home-made products. I have talked with alot of customers who come up to Quakertown from Philadelphia just for Frederick's. Try it, you'll love it!
