My last visit at Basileâs has been a huge disappointment. The windowsills have dead bugs on them and the bottle of S.Pellegrino water was covered with greasy handprints and dirt. While waiting for my familyâs meal I requested a refill on my drink and was informed that they do not provide refills and that I would have to pay for it. This will cost you another $2.00. At this point we decided to have the food packed to go. When the bill came I was in for another shock, the large plain pizza was $14.95. This was not a specialty pizza this was a plain pizza. The cost of a large pie at other local pizza places averages $10.00 â $12.00. Cost of a Cheese steak, large Pie and 4 sodas put a big hole in my pocket for $29.04. Upon paying this extremely high bill; who I believe was the owner, asked what the problem was and when I told him that it was ridiculous to charge for refills, his response was soda is expensive. So if you want to go to Basileâs expect to pay a lot of $.
Always friendly and smiling at Basile's. The pasta fagioli soup is some of the best I have ever eaten. The pizza is topnotch also, I always get a slice of mushroom to go with the soup. My sister comes up from Doylestown to go here, that says alot.
Basile's is a staple of the community and I think my neighbors and I would starve if they ever closed down! Wonderful, home cooked food; staff that treat you like a member of the family; consistency and the familiar scent of garlic wafting from the restaurant are the hallmarks of this great place.
