This is one of my favorite restaurants -- anywhere. Small, intimate, romantic, quaint, rustic (but elegant) and the food & service are superb. John, the owner/host is charming & well informed. It's BYOB, but frankly I prefer that, because I am picky about my wines. They will accomodate food allergies happily (such as gluten intolerance) and the food is first quality. If you want to charm your companion with a great intimate dinner, this is the place to go.
Tastebuds does not honor gift certificates one day beyond the expiration date - so beware. Staff is haughty and impolite. My friends and I will never go back there. Food was unimaginative and very ordinary.
My wife and are avid diners, and having lived here for years, have eaten at just about every restaurant in the area. Tastebuds is among the top restaurants we've eaten at anywhere, period. New York, Philly, Vancouver, London, Tokyo - Tastebuds stands up to comparison with the best.
The dishes are artfully prepared and never fail to be delicious.
Adding to the experience is John, the owner. He's always friendly and stops by to chat and ensure that we're enjoying our meal.
If you're in the area and want a special meal that will spoil you for other restaurants, try Tastebuds.
