| About: | Beautiful acoustics and sometimes overzealous security make this an authentic rock concert hall. An old vaudeville theatre with 3,200 seats, it's a popular hall for big stars on acoustic tours: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, John Hiatt and others play here "unplugged" if they want to bypass larger venues like the First Union Center. It's also a good place for comedians like Eric Idle or Kids in the Hall. |

User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe Tower Theater is a depression era movie theater that is now used mostly for concert events. I must say that this is my favorite venue to see some live rock n' roll in Philadelphia. The upper balcony allows for nice sight lines and great acoustics. Just don't get caught in a seat under the balcony. The bass gets very boomy and the sound turns muddy. I have seen some great shows at this place and I hope they continue to have more shows here instead of the terrible Electric Factory.

cameras: as someone who works in a concert venue ( not at the tower) most places have a no camera policy and it is posted on most websites. most (99%) of artist frown on photography during a show. so be glad you only lost your battery because at my venue we take your camers.
