Worst meal ever...... We went to Tavern 17 the first week that it opened because it was supposed to be "dog-friendly" as well as a new hot happy hour spot. Not only was there no outside seating yet, but they were out of alcohol for their "signature" drink and my salmon was lukewarm to cold. Service was incerdibly and, what I would think to the owner, embarrassingly slow. After a year we decided to give it another try. Service was still slower than at an average place. We ordered a variety of small plates. Everything was over greasy and fried. It was gross! I think I would have felt better getting a big mac and fries from McDonald's. My shrimp cocktail was tasteless. Nothing good to say about our meal, but our dogs did enjoy that they got to order off a menu and were happy with their huge bowl of ground turkey. I wonder if they feel as fat as we do. Other negative- you have to go throught the hotel (with a key card) to get to the bathroom.
Great Price, Fantastic Service, Wonderful Location, Beautiful Hotel & Rooms!: We stayed at the Warwick radisson last year the week of 4th of July and loved it! The staff was fabulous and the hotel was immaculate and beautiful. We stayed again this year for teh week of the 4th and I was thrilled with all of the renovations! The rooms look refreshed, more modern and all are equipped with 32 inch plasma tv's!! Not to mention that Rittenhouse Square is located right behind it. It was wonderful to spend our days siteseeing, go out to eat, and return back to the hotel for an evening walk aound Rittenhouse Square. The staff are a true testiment to what customer service should be everywhere you go. No matter what my question was or what I needed, they wnet ut of their way to make it happen and never gave off the impression that it was an inconvenience. Our first night there we were placed into a room that was what we had asked for (King bed/Sleep Number) but it appeared smalled then the one we had lst year. When I inquired about it, the response was that since this hotel had once been a residence, the room size varied. So they check through their computer and ound us a larger room without any hesitation!! *Here's a secret tip* if you want one of the largest rooms they have for people staying in the king sized bed rooms, ask for an 05' room. On every floor there is an 05' room (For example-705,805,905 etc.) These rooms, because of their positioning, are a little larger then the others. You can request one when checking in and ifthey don't have it, just ask for a larger room and they will make it happen :o) Parking is 28$ for parkin deck conected to the hotel an 32$ for valet as of our stay 7/2/07-7/6/07 *Free Internet was extremely helpful!! We always bring our laptop, but there are computers just off the lobby if you need to use one* Hope this helped!!
The Rittenhouse Square Grande Dame Has Still Got It!: We stayed at the Warwick over the weekend while staying in Philadelphia at the end of February. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the hotel is centrally located ~ it is right next to Rittenhouse Square, known for its shopping and beautiful architecture.
They are undergoing a remodel right now so it would be best to hold off until it's completion. They are remodeling the lobby currently, and it is one of the draws of the hotel. I have visited the lobby on pervious trips to Philly and loved it; I can only imagine how much better it will be once they have completed the remodel.
We stayed in a remodeled room; they now feature the Sleep Number bed in all of their rooms. I'm not sure how much I liked the Sleep Number bed, but the room itself was very nice. The staff was wonderful and helpful in every way. We really enjoyed our stay at the Warwick.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others.
