I give this business A HIGH 5. Such customer service I have never known. This will be my first destination if I ever get to Philly. This is truly a first class seafood market. I am a fresh seafood lover, fresh never frozen, live or flipping is what I always want in fish. I appreciate the fact that they will not ship fish that is hot iced. This truly comprises the integrity of the product. I cannot wait untill I can sink my teeth in some fresh fried whiting fish that has never been frozen, to me there is nothing better.

If you like softshell crabs, this place is the best! They serve 'monster size' blue crabs - I've never seen them this big in NJ. While the ambience is a little dining area in the center of a fish market,
the freshness and serving sizes make up for any shortcomings. I travel the 60+ one way miles to this place at least twice a year.

Every year I travel from Berks County with my husband and his family to the Italian Market on a traditional shopping trip for our Italian Christmas Eve dinner. We shop at Di Bruno's for cheese, meats, olives, and at Di Bruno's prepared foods to make baskets for far away relatives. We stand in line for hours sometimes, making coffee and hot chocolate runs to stave off the cold, talking with locals and enjoying the flavor of Philly. We shop and browse thru the street vendors, make a trip to Termini Bros. for pastries and cannoli and end up at Anastasi's for our fish & seafood shopping and for a long deserved lunch. We take over a table in the corner, squeezing in and stay as long as we can. The food is always good, the service excellent and we are always charmed by how included we feel, as we talk and laugh amongst ourselves as well as with our fellow patrons. It feels like being part of one big family, we get tips on places to shop & find the special something needed to fill out our Christmas Eve meal, commisserate over the long lines and cold weather, but it's always such a special trip and I can't wait to go each year. Over the years we have been doing this, we've perfected our system, and it makes us feel like a much closer family, and what family couldn't use a little boost every now and then? Sure, maybe it's brought on by the food & wine, but I've never loved my in-laws more than after our annual trip and I look forward to that good feeling every year. Thanks, Anastasi's, for being a part of our family tradition!
