| About: | It would be a waste of a great name if Copabanana couldn't also deliver good food and fun. Fortunately for patrons of this South Philly Tex-Mex establishment, it does both. With a great view of busy South Street, patrons enjoy spicy or mild Mexican delights, plus American grill, BBQ, and seafood. Additionally, there are those great Mexican beers and fulsome margaritas. |

Arrived midday on a Sunday, was told we'd have a 30 minute wait. They acted inconvenienced by our wait and never took our name. We sat at the bar and had drinks. After 45 minutes and many people seated ahead of us that had just walked in, I went up to the waitress and let her know that we were still waiting. The male host AGAIN acted very inconvenienced but seated us when a couple volunteered their table for four for our family and sat in a table for two. The food was decent, the Spanish fries are a must. There are so many restaurants on South Street, I'd suggest a different place. The bartender was very nice and friendly, but it wasn't worth the hassle and wait.
It was OK!! My food was alright but the rice that came with the plate was very hard and unpleasan!!
I must say I wasn't too happy with my visit to the Copabanana. It was crowded (expected though). The service was slow. And the food was just average. My first and last visit to the Copabanana was the summer of 2006.
