About:Since 1939 this dining mainstay has been consistently rated as one of the area's best for having mastered the culinary art of creating authentic Philly cheesesteaks. Cheez Whiz , sauteed onions, mushrooms, and peppers are just a few of the extras that are always on call to top the thinly sliced rib eyes. Put them together on a long Italian torpedo roll and you have a sandwich masterpiece. The menu also offers several cheesesteak variations as well as soups and salads. Its late hours make it a favorite with the bar crowd.

We were in Philly for two days. Trying out different Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches was our mission.
I agree with what the food critics said - when it comes to Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches, it is all about what you like.
They talked so much about Jim's on the duck tours so we decided to pay a visit. If you like dry and flavorless steaks, this is where you need to be. I added the marinara sauce to mine. It was flavorless too.
Jim's is overrated. Staff was not friendly. Also, they do not accept credit cards. They need to hurry up and join the 21st century!

Best Cheesesteak in Philly. If you are trying one of the icons, you will be disappointed if you go to Geno's or Pat's. This sandwich is very good, and you will agree that it was worth all the fuss.

Visited this iconic...: Visited this iconic illadelph staple and was instantly captured by the small hometown
Feel and the eclectic mixture of people whom
Would grace this marvelous eatery and lounge.

Service was quick and excellent albeit I was
Given a bit of a out-of-towner verbal spanking for not knowning the correct verbage when ordering . * smile *

All in all, great place to go and hang out or
Steaks on the go and just walk along south street enjoying the afternoon or nightly
    Festivities . :)
