The food at Allegria is wonderful, the Rigatoni Vodka is to die for. The Service was also excellent and very attentitive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has been dieing to find wonderful Italian cusine.
We went on a Saturday night so they were a bit busy. The servers pouring water, delivering bread and providing ice don't seem to know much about the food being served at the restaurant or have much restaurant experience. We had two pasta dishes and they were good. I had the dish that included shrimp, crab and scallops and felt there should have been more seafood. I was really suprised by the small portions of appetizers and entrees for the expensive price tag.
OK. It is the best italian food in the neighborhood, but there is plenty of room for improvement. About a 6 out of 10 on the tasty scale.
White clam sauce is very sandy -- you have to clean those clams! We like the service. Lighting could be more romantic. We don't go nearly as much as we would if it were better. We often drive an extra 30 minutes to go to Trattoria by Guiseppe's in Edgemont.
