Nice Store - But: The store looks very attractive, however I didn't buy anything there.
I stopped by on Saturday afternoon while running errands. My last errand was to drop off empty returnable beer cans and bottles and buy beer and wine for a Labor Day Weekend party. I had about a dozen Bud cans and 3 quart bottles to be returned. I asked the clerk if he wanted me to drop them in the back of the store. He said that they do not have the facilities to accept empties. I left, with my empties.
I went to a liquor store further north on Rte. 1 at the intersection of Route 133 in Rowley. "Route 1 Liquors" is in the plaza accross from the Agawam Diner. They took my empty cans and bottles and my money for beer, wine and other party items. They have a good selection and pleasant staff and my final 2 errands were completed.
I may stop in again at "Top Shelf Liquors" when I am in the area, however I will not be bringing my empties with me.
Question - I thought all MA beer and wine retailers had to accept empties and could only refuse dirty or damaged cans and bottles?
Signed,
