Excellent: Best food I've had in Philadelphia, and a great deal for the price.
All factors considered? The best in the city.: The food is always fresh, innovative, interesting, and wonderful - and the menu is completely new every single day. The staff is excellent: never pretentious, always gracious, and well informed. The chef is a delight; open and quite accessible. They have the best snails on the planet and there is free parking right next door. In 50 + visits - we have never had a single disappointment. It is one of the very few that are touched with the magic of greatness. If there is anything to dislike, we have never found it. I personally would prefer that you avoid Pif - so that I will always be able to get a table.
Hey, it's cramped but it beats coach to Paris!: Authentic French food at a BYO that's only an arm - you can keep the leg. Not bad, eh? this is the kind of food you can find in most parts of Paris easy, but not so much here. You know what I like about ths place? They don't put foie gras where it doesn't belong. To my knowledge, nothing is served with foam on it. The food is honest, the ingredients are fresh and the preparation is loving. I had the veal cheaks. man, were they good. Came with a little chick pea flour fried thingee that was delicious. A little too rich - I didn't get to try the dessert even but i'll come back. My girl got a fish. i forget which, but it came smothered with leeks and was just perfect. Make a reservation. I like it better than Django and you can actually get a table on a day's notice. So there!
