I will never deal with Chapman Chevrolet in Philadelphia, PA ever again. I contacted Byron Sample, a salesman in the used sales department, about a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Limited they had listed on autotrader, as well as their dealership site. I talked with Byron and told him I was 3.5 hrs drive away from the dealership, so I wanted to get as much info over the phone before deciding whether to take the trip or not. There were no pictures of the Jeep listed online, which I accredited with the fact that the for sale posting had just been put up, and since they were a new and used car dealership, maybe they didnât have the resources to devote to taking pictures of every vehicle, seemed reasonable to me. Well, after speaking with Byron and him assuring me that the Jeep was â..good inside, good outside, itâs in really good shapeâ, I decided to take the trip. Upon arriving at the dealership and finding a rougher looking version of the vehicle I expected parked next to the building, I was sure that this wasnât the vehicle I had driven 3.5 hrs to see. Every single corner of this Jeep had the paint gouged from hitting something, the driver side rear quarter-panel was dented in severly, as was the tailgate, and the roof was dented in so bad, it looked like someone had jumped up and down on it, which judging from the obviously lack of any sort of care given to this vehicle, I wouldnât be surprised. When Byron finally came out to show me the vehicle, and informed me that this was indeed the Jeep he had described to me as being in âreally good shapeâ, I was furious. I had lost a day off from work, a tank of gas, toll costs, and enlisted the help of family to give me a ride to the dealership, all which could have been saved by Byron simply being honest instead of blatantly lying about the condition of this vehicle. I donât know if this is the quality of vehicle that everyone at Chapman Chevrolet considers âreally goodâ, but I will never deal with this dealership ever again, and I hope in writing this I can save some others the time, money, and frustration.
I bought a used car back in 2004 from meissner and it had many problems at the time I bought it. The engine and transmission needed work as soon as i bought it. It's the worse used car I have ever purchased. They did help alittle with some of the repairs however I knew shortly after buying this car it was not worth nearly the money I payed for it because it had too many problems. Within day of buying the car I asked for my money back or a car of equal value and meissner said no way you bought it it's yours now.
