I took my Audi to this awful place and they worked on the trans for over a month and made it worse. They ripped me for over $2000.I had to trade it for a new car and lost an additional
$4000 on the trade in value. They do everything by the seat of their pants because they have
no diagnostic equipment.Stay away from these amateurs!!!!!!
I had my transmission repaired at Transplant. They were very easy to deal with and spent a lot of time answering questions for me because I was interested in making modifications to my '95 Prelude. In the end they recommended that I not spend the extra cash to change my transmission even though they would have made a lot more money had I gone that route. They seemed very reputable and I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know who needs good, honest transmission work.
My vehicle (150,000 miles) would sometimes hesitate on take off on some early mornings. It only happened 4 or 5 times in the past year and had not happened for at least a month or more but I figured it would be a good idea to have it checked out before it became a real problem. Alan seemed to be very familiar as I was explaining he interjected with "morning sickness" and told me to leave the vehicle for a couple hours. I did and latter received his phone call telling me (regarding the diagnosis) it was internal and either the torque convertor or (something or other) pump. He told me it was going to run four hundred and eighty nine dollars and showing some concern about spending that I asked him if they would accept my credit card for payment at which time he said they accept everything. No other cost or price or possibilities were mentioned and I felt that although five hundred dollars was a significant expense at the moment I was probably adverting a very expensive transmission rebuild or replacement. A day or so latter I was surprised to get a call from the owner of the shop to give me the cost of the repair. She told me it was twelve hundred and some almost thirteen hundred dollars. I told her she was calling the wrong customer, I was in for a five hundred dollar job. She confirmed my name and vehicle and said she wasn't done telling me the whole cost, parts, labor, environmental fee (that in itself at 5% is a ripoff). All told I was looking at thirty one hundred dollars. I said no way I'll be over. Imagine my surprise and how you're going to feel when you're told that should you decline to get it fixed it's going to cost you not just five hundred to take it all apart but an additional fifteen hundred dollars to put it back together not fixed, no new parts other than the necessary new gaskets, seals, and fluid. There are a couple other options of not replacing this or that all of which will only save you five to eight hundred from the thirty one hundred price but then of course you drive away with no warranty at all because you didn't fix the entire problem. This is a lousy way to do business. If you have been working on transmissions ten, twenty, thirty years you know what to expect but the helpless customer doesn't. It's dishonest to throw one price out there (five hundred) and not explain to the customer that once they get into the job its an automatic two or three thousand dollar job. I'm commenting here a month after I've had them fix it (my only real option) and I 've taken the vehicle back after a couple hundred miles for a check up and although they say everything checks out O.K., I sense a vibration that never was there before but who knows maybe my tires need to be balanced or something. Bottom line is that if I was told (the truth) up front that my hundred and fifty thousand mile vehicle was going to need a thirty one hundred dollar repair , I definitely would have traded it in for a new one. I'm pretty sure they anticipated that at transplant transmission. I hope this comment helps the reader understand how things work at this place of business.

This seems odd. I talked to Alan myself and I knew perfectly well that the first charge was only for the removal of my transmission. This person seems out of touch with what things cost these days.
